Next is the Brembo brake switch, connecting it to the stock wiring harness

I don't know if Canada got them or if those were aftermarket fairings, as I know the black was a last year Euro model
I just looked it up and Canada did get the black model.......but were low in numbers.....

So you never know, a black Canadian model could become available sometime and you can snag it to restore.....

Brembo brake light switch connected to the oem harness and plug, Brembo wires shortend, pins to fit into the oem switch plug crimped on, heat-shrunk, and routed with one zip-tie on the bars...and I have working brake lights on the first try...
lol

Decided to use a black plactic push-in style plug on the rear passenger peg bolt hole, instead of a bolt that does nothing.
I cut the back of the plastic plug flush with the subframe.
Another incredible mod, I know...
lol

I have some .050" aluminum left, and have to fab a bracket for the rear brake light switch, as Vortex rearsets do not come with any mount for it.
I have a plan, and have one from another project, but that one is the reverse of what I need, and I'll use the back of the stock footpeg bracket as a template.
But, I have working brake lights from the front brakes, so it's not high on the list at the moment.

The bike is off the lift table, and hopefully for a while.
I have it on the Constand, which will make adjusting the suspension sag much easier.
I'm going to try out the Motool Slacker for the sag too, might as well...it's only been on the shelf, new in the box, for around 3 years now...
The Constand will also make setting the rear ride height much quicker, as the '21 Showa R shock raises the rear over an inch or more, and the seat height is Tall.
I have Schintz +2/-2" adjustable lower shock links on it.
Check out the kickstand lean...did I say it was Tall, lol

I need to adjust the chain, and snug the steering stem bearing nut and upper triple-clamp nut, but I like to test ride the bike and see exactly where it's at first, as they set better by feel, vs torque it to x and forget it.
Still waiting on warmer days to do the coolant flush and fill with Engine-Ice too.
It's supposed to be almost 40°F on Wednesday, yay, lol, so hopefully then.
But, I've gotten alot done in this fridgid weather.
The bike is tagged and insured, and almost ready for it's first ride in almost 3 years now, yes, I am a Master of procrastination...but do get alot done when the mood strikes.
I'm going to get some more stainless bolts tomorrow, and if a friend is working, have him cut my 2 gold Suzuki keys.
I will be putting the new front fender and new nose on soon too...but have to go out to the shed to get them(I'll leave the new side fairings off for a while, and just zip-tie the turn signals to the frame-sliders in the meantime, and they should be here Wednesday)
It's still in the teens here, and the wind would take you off your feet, so I'm not making the hundred foot walk to the shed for the fairings...they can wait...I'de feel like Charles Ingalls going to the barn, lmao

It looks pretty cool without the fairings.....like a modern naked bike....

But we both know the fairings are pretty cool too.......a classic shape.

Well done, the beast looks awesome, I'll bet it will be even better to ride.....

Thank you sir.
I'de like to keep the fairings off of it too, and though about making a new headlight and guage mount, but don't prefer the wind without the fairings after a short ride.
The small nose and windshield make a big difference.

Kinda just scrolled through some pages as this is a huge build thread lol, looks pretty damn good too. I put a deposit down on a Silver K3 1K after Suzuki released pics/info on it in the fall of '02. Got the 1st one that arrived at the dealer and loved it.
Useless info: the K3 was the first year that a solid color GSXR (that being the silver) was ever sold
Sold it for a K5 2yrs later

Thankyou sir, it's Slowly getting there.
And not useless info either, as I never stopped to think how many year models were solid colors, and other than black(my favorite), there really aren't very many.

I ordered a set of titanium rear rotor bolts...gonna save 2 grams...and match the titanium sprocket nuts on the other side...and they'll be shiny!
Where is @c10 anyway, he is to blame for spreading his titanium sickness across the org...
lmao!

I spent $35 in various stainless bolts and washers locally today too...for more shiny.
I've got Alot of it anyway, and still have a few fasteners to replace on this bike.
I'll probably end up buying titanium front rotor bolts too, and a rear axle nut...
