New garage mate for my Busa.

I sold my van which I never drove. It was 3 years old and only had 7k on it. I went and bought a 20 ZX14r.
Keeping both of these iconic bikes until I can't ride anymore.
I could have traded my Busa in on a 19 H2 SE SX for my busa and 12k.
But having these two sounded better to me. I rode it 60 miles home. It is more of an upright riding position.

I notice you put a fan on it after a ride just like I do....

I must say...look at the size of those stock exhaust cans!

You might as well own the last of their kind...both bikes will be gone from the lineup shortly.:(

Yes I always do the fan after a ride. It was about 90 degrees on the way home and very humid. Yeah the cans may go at some point. The only other things I need are grip puppies and lowering pegs. I think I left my old ones on my 18 ZX14 when I traded it. Oh and a center stand.

I gave my take when I had my 18 ZX and a Busa. I have to look up that post. I rode home during break-in so did not get on it that much.
  • It is a more upright riding stance. It was smooth and only 4k RPM at 75.
  • It may be a little more top heavy.
  • Seems to handle well but didn't press it with new tires. Gauges are good.
  • I forgot to check what mode I was in. Probably A since I did not change it when starting it.
  • I like that I can put a center stand on it.
  • I can get to the oil filter without removing plastic.
  • The Corbin seat on my Busa is more comfortable. Not the stock busa seat though.

I’m thinking about getting a Corbin as my next mod also looked at saddlemen

It's got more power. Everything else about it is not as good as a busa! That was a good pick though. I own a Gen1 ZX-14 and a Gen2 busa and I have no regrets. I love that 14 but it's not as good of a bike as the busa. The busa is more sporty and has more racelike features stock. I can make a pretty good list and you've mentioned a couple yourself. Damn that Gen2 ZX-14 engine though!!! I have hopes of fitting one to my Gen1. It works I hear.

I think it is a little more comfortable. It also has traction control.

I kept thinking about what second bike I wanted. I looked at the Yamaha MT10 and it just seemed too physically small, no wind protection, plus only 1k less than the ZX14. I am 6-1. I like the size of the Busa and ZX14. I looked at some adventure bikes and while they are cool I don't do that kind of riding. I saw a great deal on a new Gold Wing but I don't tour or commute 60 miles a day anymore.

I even looked at Harleys again but nothing floated my boat for under 20k

I thought about waiting to see if a GEN3 Busa comes out but knew it would be too much money like the H2. I loved my Busa so I thought about another ZX14. I think these are two good keepers.

Not so fast :D My gen 2 ZX14 handles just as good if not better than my previous gen 2 busa

Gotta love those mufflers!
:rolleyes: :thumbsup::bowdown:

I thought for sure you would go with the MT10. This is why I don't go to the casino. I agree there is nothing wrong with owning two of the fastest bikes created.
