I live in GA where I have a concealed carry license, but work in SC where the license does not reciprocate. So, when I go through SC I have to ensure the weapon is in the trunk, or I am in violation of the SC laws. If I stay in GA, then I carry the weapon in my pocket, or inside my jacket.

When I ride to NC into the mountains, I put the weapon in the trunk because I am going through SC to get there. I am unable to get a license in SC due to the laws governing.

Arizona is an open carry state, meaning I can carry it on my hip if I soo choose. I used to be (until last year) that yiou had to take a class to get your CCW and you could conseal. The law has now changed and anyone can conseal as long as the weapon in registered to them. This is why I moved from Maryland.

Couple of clarifications regarding AZ CCW:

First, anyone who may legally possess a firearm may carry concealed without a permit, with some restrictions (not in schools, etc.)

Second, there is no firearm registration in AZ, and thus no requirement that the weapon you're carrying be 'registered' to you.

Regarding citizens taking action against the active commission of felonies, check your local laws. Every state is different, and you need to know what the law says about your justification for the use of deadly force if you are going to carry a handgun.

You also can't conceal in state parks without a ccw in arizona, but when im out in the woods.....i don't need to hide the .357 magnum

I have to agree a very good article! It seems a pretty good number of us carry too, and understand our responsibilities as gun owners with CCW liscenses.

Thanks for the link Poppy, you cannot be too prepared if the worst happens and you need to pull that tool out. I'd add that hunting helps to learn the difference between shooting and killing, as well as "poise under pressure". Preparedness is essential, I've seen how "rookie surprise" can save some game.

I wouldn't. We just lost a Sergeant over the weekend, and anyone you speak with from area law enforcement will not be amused.
