One of my cats jumped a rabbit some years ago. Bit its neck and severed it's spine. The rabbit managed to drag itself to the edge of the pool and fell in. The cat wasn't about to get wet--it just sat there watching. I ran out and fished it out of the water. Poor thing couldn't move its hind legs at all.

Couldn't think of any other way to kill it fast, so I laid it down on the street and used my car to run over its head.

Am I going to hell cause I laughed at this?

I know it's not funny and I feel really bad for laughing but I just can't help myself.

Dang, I hope it wasn't just resting from all the struggling earlier. I'm calling PETA right now. They'll be at your home later to stage a protest.

Let them. I have officially killed 329,925 fewer animals than they have this year.

I used to be an avid deer hunter and harvested a lot but there came a time when killing one seemed to bother me. Now, I will almost wreck my truck to keep from hitting an animal. Believe me, I have nothing against hunting but it just ain't the same for me. You did the right thing but I know it was a hard decision. If you ain't BSin.

It sure wasn't funny at the time. I couldn't even yell at the cat--it just did what cats do. I made sure it died fast--that's about all I could do for it.

I've become very protective of animals as I get older. I'm an endowment life member of the NRA, but haven't hunted in many years. I will kill a rattlesnake w/o a second thought though.

It always bothers me when some big cat or bear manages to bite or kill a human. The "authorities" always seem to want to put it down, even though it's just doing what comes naturally for it.

I dont believe in letting animals suffer either.

When I was in the Corps I cam home from work one night (was working night shift)

As I was getting out of my car some idiot was speeding down the street and turned in front of my house and hit a cat.

We had problems with people speeding and it really pissed me off. My family and I love all animals. we have dogs, cats, frogs, had a scorpion or two that I picked up when I was TAD (woke up in the middle of the night and the thing ran across my foot lol)

Anyway, I walked over and saw the cat had drug himself out of the road he was pretty much flattened and no way he was going to make it even if I had tried to get him to a hospital. The guy who ran the cat over had stopped and came over and some kid on a bicycle was there. I looked at the cat and knew it was suffering and there was no way it was going to live, it really pissed me off.

I looked at the guy who hit the cat and the kid and I told them "if your squeamish you better not watch"

I was wearing my combat boots and I slammed the heal of my boot down on its neck and twisted really quick to snap it. It was done in a half a second and the cat was no longer in pain.

It almost broke my heart to have to do it but I felt it was the right thing to do so I did it.

The guy who hit the cat almost threw up and ran to his car and drove away and the kid on the bike road off real quick.

I love animals but sometimes if you love animals enough you have to make a hard choice to put them out of their misery when stuff like that happens.

I would do the same for any of you if needed

If it's supposed to fly and it's not, it's no longer a bird and you saved it some suffering. I've done it, it's hard as hell cause I'm not a killer by nature, but I've done it.

If I should crash in front of you and end up with a broken hand or something, please give me at least a chance before the boot comes down. :please:

A lot of the decision would be based on how hard your head is. If you have a hard/dense one and/or it's still inside a helmet, I'd have to use my old 1 ton truck or tractor instead of my car.

*If* your helmet wasn't all scratched up AND I was in my car, I'd first remove it and then proceed with the compression test.

LOL at Benesesso

By the way, a quick way to terminate a rabbit would be to grasp it by its hind legs and swing it between yours aiming its head into a tree trunk or boulder
