I will sometimes wear my Harley FXRG jacket. Link Most would not even notice it saying HD anywhere on it. It has some decent protection, padding and reinforcement. I sometimes get some ribbing when someone notices I'm wearing a Harley T-Shirt riding a Busa (under my gear of course). I like most all bikes. There are hard core Harley, Beemer, Liter bike, Wing, even Busa riders who think no other bikes (other than what they ride) are worth riding. They can kiss my @$$. If you like the jacket and it provides some decent protection, wear it.  It can actually open some constructive conversations. I've had quite a few Harley guys that were actually very interested in my Busa. Maybe it was the Orange and Black

I would recommend leaving the chaps at home!

Leather will offer better protection than textile.

Personally, I would put it up for sale on ebay and buy something with built in armor. But as some here have said it probably would be a good conversation starter!

+1. It also shows you're openminded and recognize the fact there are all different kinds of bikes out there for all different moods. One thing I like about this board is that we're not so exclusive like the other boards. Lots of multi-bike, multi-brand owners here.

I'm new here and don't know what you all wear while riding. So basically textile is junk and you all have leather? How much more protection will leather give over textile.

I was going to get a textile jacket but now you have me thinking. What kind of gear do you all have?

I'd probably wear it if it was a Harley style jacket but not if it actually said Harley on it.

I'd wear it, it's a nice jacket, Harley makes lots of cool clothes, my wife has a bunch even though we don't have a Harley. To me, it symbolizes riding lifestyle and that's all that matters.

I personally wouldn't wear it but I'm not against anyone wearin' a Harley jacket on a Busa (or any other bike for that matter). Hell, I see non-riders wearing harley jackets.

I'd wear it. Leather is going to give you better protection than mesh. Mesh is better than a T-shirt, but once the weather cools down enough to make leather tolerable the mesh goes back in the closet.

As far as looks go, I'd still wear it. Who cares what it says on the back? Shoot, I still wear chaps when the temperatures drop (let the laughing commence.)

If you're wanting something different, though, I'd suggest checking out Newenough.com. I got a Technic jacket for around $100 or so from them a couple months ago. You can sell the HD jacket for a good price on Ebay and pick up something different if you want.
