I'm not a big guy, so I got a rear stand with a pipe handle and got a three foot section of pipe to help raising and lowering. That way I can work it one'handed and have a hand free to control the bike i.e. push the hump towards the kickstand side.

A long handle is definitely in the works!

Be on the lookout for a tank on eBay...tons of parts from downed bikes on there; you may be able to get one cheap...

sorry to hear bout your mishap dude!! That's happened to me before and you're truly right about it being slow-mo when it happens. Then all the expletives that come out of your mouth and don't even realize it.
