Ultra Quick Survey Regarding Suspension

Well folks...I've been a busy beaver tuning "other peeps" bikes as my newly aquired Traxxion 1.1 Straight Rate Omni spring kit sat for several days now collecting dust on my work bench...and now have a guy pulling in a ZX-6R this evening but was just about to start the busa's fork removal and...Lee from Traxxion called...and caught me just in time..asa apparently?...

There was some confusion regarding the "DROP-IN" fork spring kits from Traxxion and as Lee discovered from Martin (Max's #1 Guy On Busa Suspension Set-up) the omni spring kit that Lee sent me isn't exactly "Drop-In"...and requires a more complex installation of removing the forks internal cartridge to then be mooded by removing an "external hydraulic anti-bottoming out" feature from the O.D. of the internal cartridge itself...and this is required for the omni springs to fit over the internal cartridge...but this suspension modification is typically performed "In-House" by their suspension specialist and is part of the full meal deal on the front forks which usually includes re-valving.

Bottom Line: If I want to install the omni springs they sent me Lee figures I can proably get'er done but...the tear down/assy complexity level gets seriousely elevated and the cartridges "external hydraulic anti-bottoming out" feature gets eliminated...and together Lee and I figure that that's NOT such a great idea for the DIY'er who just wants to re-spring his Busa with a more simplistic "Drop-In" style re-springing kit...so...

Based on the fact that I stated to Lee that I believe many here are (or may in the near future be) interested in such a product?...Lee is going to approach Max MCcallister (who owns/runs traxxion) tomorrow morning to request that Max consider ordering up a run of custom fit springs that would be a simple "Drop-In" direct spring swap-out, sans any complex modifications to the busa's internal fork cartridge...and retain the internal cartridges "external hydraulic anti-bottoming out" feature.

So whaddaya'll think?...do we have enough intrest here?..cause the more yes's we have the better the chances Max will bless, order, stock and supply such a custom spring order...and I'll need to get this info to Lee by tomorrow morning....just 2 or 3 and chances are slim but, a dozen or so should get some attention.

I would be up for it. I weigh in at close to 300lbs and the stock fork spring rates are a little light for me. Keep us informed of what we can do, and even if they won't do the springs I may be interested in the whole package.

For me it depends on money. How much and how much for installation. Or is the install so easy any Joe Schmo can do it...

This would be a DIY'er "Drop-In" kit Charles so yeah...any Joe Shmoe with some wrenchs and the ability to follow the step-by-step photograhic instructions I'll provide here at this site in my "Jinkster Attacks Suspension" thread located in the "Technical/Modifications" forum.

Cost for the springs and custom length spacers would be right around the $125 range..then you would also need a special $29.95 "fork spring compession tool" also available through traxxion to get the job done.

Whelp...the response here isn't looking too promising...might hafta stick with the complex install of the springs I currently have. Oh well...I tried.
