I had a customer that wanted power on the cheap and he didnt want to get poped by the cops for being to loud.je-13.5.1 1397 no base gasket, moved intake cam on the exhaust with 378 on the intake, cam srockets, relay for 24-volt start, shim stock valve springs, two longer velocity stacks for a total of 4,16t front sprocket,HD clutch springs,NO mod to air box or exhaust programed with yosh box. Its just what he wanted a bar hopper. www.1320straightliners.com [/QUOTE]

question: what was outcome of this kit? Cost? rwhp?

I have to agree to a point with thraser fox. To a point meaning, Just a set of cans, a T.R.E. and an air filter mabye a fine tune on a dyno is more than enough for everyday speed and not having to worry about blowing it up. I love going fast and unless your racing TRACK ONLY mild mods are the way to go. Thats my 2 cents. Good luck in whatever you choose:)

I dunno, personally, I would find an excellent engine builder.  A real Pro not some Jar head with a wrench and a kit.  But find someone to build the hell out of a big bore Motor.  Get it Balanced, and take care of the rest of the driveline while your at it.  You should be able to get what?  220-230 reliable HP all day....  It's less tricky than a turbo, a little more of an old school approach.  This is just my opinion though.  Turbo makes a ton of power but is tricky to get right, this I learned jsut from watching people here on the board spend $8k...Then spend another $2k, then a month later another $2k Etc...  Fug That, I wanna ride not have issues.

Like Eater Said though if it's done right it'll last a year or so anyway.. laugh.gif
Personally I love boost biggrin.gif .....alot tounge.gif but I also like reliability....alot wink.gif Either one would prolly be a blast...but the big bore would prolly be more bullet proof down the road, although the turbo would prolly be more fun. I had a factory turbo bike I boosted way up and it ran great...but like NE said you have to use some restraint and common sense if you want a boosted bike to last.
Actually you need that for anything to last wink.gif

Big Bores all the way! I have a Big Bore crankn over 200hp . You can also hide a Big Bore without any1 really knowing you have 1. Also the Big Bore does not have a "Lag" like that of a turbo. My choice, Big Bore all the way!

I dropped $5,600 on a Stage 1 with all the Extras to building the Motor and so on. NO labor and NO worries of the bike going to explode.  SHOCKED.gif

My Goal is 300WRHP. I need a Boost controller & Intercooler....  to get the real power out.

1 Step at a time w/o dieing  firedevil.gif

I have a 1397 and my buddy has a turbo. I'm faster at

the track and his has bin apart 3 times now for new

pisstons. Mine is still going strong and has had more

passes at the track than the turbo.

I can't wait to get a crank put in my bike and kick it out

to 1500+cc.... ices_rofl.gif

Dennis "THEMOTORHEAD" told me the Stock rods are good with spacers and JE Turbo Pistons for just alittle more than 400RWHP.

Maybe just maybe the day I upgrade to rods I could do a 1397 Turbo setup w/ intercooler...

I was going crazy...

I was in the same boat. I wanted to go either 1507cc w/ a 5 mm Stroker and 84MM bore or Turbo. All Motor 250RWHP would be bad ass. But you need to look at all the little things that would be recommended.

*Head work $950.00+
*Cams $615.00+
*Fuel System .... rock.gif
*HD Clutch Springs ... rock.gif
*1 Peice Clutch or Lock $199.00+
*Costs for Boring the Block $862+
*Stoker Crank $815.00+
*Pistons / Wrists Pins $610+
*Gaskets $100+
*Block Studs / Nuts $120
*Cam Sprockets $154
*Labor $800+

I'm upto $5225 and I know im missing afew things. like 2nt Radiator Fan Mod.

It all comes down to what YOU want... and how much $$ do you have.

Why not a Supercharger? Contact 1-510- 452-1217 Jason Keats- ie.Super Grizz form TMH site. EXELENT RIDE. cant go wrong. Will be less than a turbo or near the price of a turbo. Very predictable from a riders viewpoint. Liniar in pull from idle to red line. Not unpridictable at all. With the twisties and all here thatsa nice. NO IM NOT AFILIATED- --SEE ME--

for the most part the s/c kits are just as much as a turbo kit and yield slightly less hp

Do you own one of his blower kits and have it running on a Busa ?

I have asked several times for pics , been told they would be emailed to me..... nadda zilch . I asked for a dyno sheet , was sent a sheet of a TTS Busa . Was also told awhile back that three members of the other site had just bought Busa blower kits but I can't find those guys  rock.gif

12 months later and still the only pic on that website is of the bike @ the TTS shop , in England so it's got me wondering . Links to pics or links to threads with actual owners of the Superbike Busa blower kit would help remove some of that wondering I have.
