BRM brother BRM (Basic Rifle Marksmanship)
Maybe this will help you see what that ole gal can really do! This manual was written around the M16 but the fundamentals are the same for any rifle.
In theory you should be able to zero her with just 9 rounds:
- first 3 round group (shows where it's shooting, don't adjust sights)
- second 3 round group (confirms it's the rifle not you, now adjust sights)
- third 3 round group (confirms adjustment)
Proper
sight picture everytime, controlled breathing, good body position and trigger squeeze are the key to consistant kill shots.
Those peep sights are different from the traditional blade sight of a hunting rifle. Now-a-days they're allowing Soldiers in basic to place a marker(tape or 550 cord held by tape) on their rifle stocks, this is so each time they put their cheek to the stock its in the same place for each and every shot..
