The Good,the Bad,and its ugly...header tape question

Some folks who run HMF full systems have complained of melting fairings.Its for this reason I have yet to re-install my side fairings.I was thinking of header tape,or that stick on heat shielding(which never seems to stay stuck on) or both. Thoughts on header tape? I only plan to wrap pipes near the plastic.

Works well, for it's intended purpose. I have heard that it will absorb water and smell funny when it gets hot sometimes.

did mine in 2006. put heat sheild on plastics...still no melting to this day

Cool-Tape - Design Engineering, Inc. - Thermal Performance Products Here is the tape I bought from local car performance shop 5 years ago and applied it to inside of fairing when I installed my Tsukigi Exhaust because I was worried about the heat melting my fairings, works great never an issue and still sticks great after all this time.
