Stock heelguards assembly??

Anyone ever disassemble the stock heelguards..........is the "action" both the brake and shifter pedal assembled with grease inside the shaft? I wanna take em apart while the ole girl is stored so i can finish strippin the paint off n polish up the heelguards but don't wanna worry bout the stripper gettin inside the "action" of the pedal shafts or in the grommets for the bolts that hold it on the bike for that matter.

when i stripped mine down there was no grease . i used paint stripper then sanded and sanded .

yeah, that's what i'm doin, started with 600 grit then 2000 wetsand, its gonna be a BITCH to get the bolt holes n such

get you a dremel with the little mesh wheels, they have a 120 grit and 320 grit these will cut out the paint and smooth it out .

I second the dremel idea, definately makes life easier in tight spots!!
