Thanks everyone.

Just got more word. He is still in ICU and he also has a shattered shoulder in addition to the above. Says it will require a full shoulder rebuild.

They have not even let his wife see him yet, but she keeps calling my wife with updates

He was on his way back from visiting his Dad in McAllen and coming back through Austin a car full braked in front of him and he ran into it.
There was an officer right behind him when it happened. The officer told my sis-in law that he got behind him earlier to keep other cars from crowding him and saw the entire event unfold.
