Well, to make a long story short, our fabulous government decided to raise the registration fees for all the motorcycles since 2006 to fill the gap in his tresor chest... so here's how it goes for us, riders: these are the prices we used to pay and will pay to register our loved busa/bike (aka: High-Risk Motorcycle of 401 cc and Over): in 2006 and 2007 we paid 320$/year, 2008 was 667$/year, 2009 is 1030$/year and 2010 will be 1410$ :banghead: so here there's a group of people who decided to rally themself and all the bikers to contest this industrie/killer registration cost raise!!! The purpose of this is to coast on the highway at the minimum speed permitted by the law toward the office of our loved prime minister in Montreal. We were escorted by the police who blocked every entry ramps on our way so we can drive safe without any car bumping us.... Here are some pics:

The starting point:

I forgot to mention that this one is the 14th we do this year... you know how is the government.... quick to make good laws for their friends but slow to listen to the rest of us.... so we're still waiting for an answer.... but we'll not quit!!!

I feel for your pain about the fees and I love your organizing. I just returned from Montreal, I rode up there from Long Island. I was amazed that I only saw 3 bikes while in Canada. By the way, crossing the border these days is no joke, they stopped just short of a cavity search. Oh and Montreal and Quebec are beautiful.

I would gladly pay those fees, I remember talking with a rider in Montreal that medical was also covered. If thats the case, your fees dont seem to bad compared with what I pay here in Md.

Oh by the way, I love Montreal. I have taken a few trips up there on my bike.

Keep protesting! If more people did maybe the government would not be so out of control!!!

 Very good turnout. Maybe they will listen to you guys. Good Luck and I bet there were some pee peeed off cagers following ya'll.

The problem here is this: we get a "No Fault" system wich we pay a lot of taxes and fees (license plates to name only one...) and then the governement comes and says: "Hey little people, you drive a bike of more than 400cc that looks like supert-sporty 'cause it has a fairing and can go very fast, wich can be very dangerous for you. For this purpose, you will pay more on your license plate because you are more at risk!!!" The problem is they only take in spec the type of bike, not the roads condition nor the experience of the driver. And for that same reason, they rise our fees of 400% over 2 years!!!! :cheerleader: So the government makes everything possible to NOT have a user/payer system but it does exactly the opposite here.
