I use the methode below as well. This is a sportbike, not a tricicle.:laugh:

You can use string or the marks on the swingarm (close but not exact) I use a venier caliper and mike the distance from the cut out on the swing arm to the front edge of the axle block. Dead on way to chek and adjust.

Um, that's exactly what I have been doing, complete with the vernier caliper. But that doesn't explain why the distance from the swing-arm bolt to the axel bolt is so far off then.

what i am using with very best results
is the previous laser light tool version of
more easy you can´t control/correct a chain´s alignement
and no other tool can be as exact as this.
