radar detector

I'm about to wire up the radar detector and I found the unused brown and black 12v wires but it looks like I'll have to remove the nose too so I can get in there and slice them together. With the nose on it's to tight. Have anyone used the low beam headlight wire to tap into? I want it on a ignition wire so it turn on/off with the key..

Is the headlight wire safe?

That will work fine.. You can also go off the fuse box under the left dash panel.. Thats what I did.

thanks for the tips. the brown/black 12v wires are all zip tied and taped and the only way my fat hands can get in there is by taking the nose off. which fuse did you go off of?

taking the nose off.

Nope.

Gauge cluster off.  Razor blade to cut through tape.  Pull wires through...

No need to remove entire nose...

thanks guys,
yesterday I had some time to dig deep into this and I got the brown and black wires out and hooked up. works great. Once the gauges where off there was a ton of room to work with.
