Installing a radar detector

I am waiting for my Beltronics STi driver radar detector and will be installing it later this week. It's my first installation of the kind and i'm looking for tips...

I've read before that there is an extra unused 12v wire near the headlamp, is that right? Anybody that can share pics and tips of detectors installations are welcome to do so! I've done a search but haven't found much...

Yes, saw it in my HID install, it is an extra connector that is used on European models for additional lighting not required in the States.

You might find it better to just run the wire back to the battery.
