Where to splice in wiring

I have an 05 and want to install a radar detector. Is there a place by the ignition where I can splice in without effecting anything else? Where is that extra 12v wire in the nose? (and what's the easy way to get to it)

I did the same thing. There is an empty plug in the fairing. YOu have to remove it to get to the plug. I inserted the wiring right into the plug, and it is hot only with the ignition on.

If I remeber correctly, it's the same plug as the front turn signal bulbs. So you could try to find a spare from there somehow.
