I'm with you on the having too much to lose, landmissile. Especially the "security clearance" part.
The problem that I have with the unmarked plain clothes cops is that you dont know if they really ARE cops. I got lit up one time when i lived in SC (had a tail light out) by this beat up, non-matching fender having old mustang. When he lit me up, I called the police dept to verify that it was really a cop before I pulled over. When he got up to my car, he asked me why it took me so long to stop. I basically told him "would YOU believe you were a cop? I called and asked to make sure you were really a LEO"
The whole time i was on the phone, i didn't run, and I slowed down, but i didn't stop. I also put my hazards on. I figured that if he needed to verify what I did, it wouldnt be hard for him to do.
