Powder coat the rims blue on a white Gen 3?

What do you guys think of powder coating the rims the same color blue as the blue trim on a white Gen 3?
I haven’t even gotten the bike yet and here I am planning the mods.
Hoping to pick up a white one this weekend.

How close can the color be matched though? Inexact matches stand out too much for my eyes but admittedly I am pickier than most.

No, as it says, stock colors.
That's Suzuki blue for 2018.
Wheels are around $400 to powdercoat in my area, and bearings need to be pressed out and in.

Subtle accents like that will truly make your GEN 3 one of a kind. Get that color spot on, and it'll be one more touch that wil look absolutely awesome.

Yeah, I’m in CA where modified exhausts are a no-no so I gotta look at other options. The police here won’t cite you just for the exhaust if you’re riding around but if you get pulled over for speeding they’ll walk around the bike and cite whatever’s out of compliance.
And just try to get a shop here in CA to even add a full exhaust. They face stiff fines if caught.

I say go for it and while you’re in there go ceramic bearings. Definitely post the color you used as well.

I say white for the wheels even though that will be a constant cleanup job. White wheels are awesome.

I didn’t think about white but yeah, constantly wiping up brake dust and road grime would do me in.
Not counting it completely out yet.

If you can find the blue, it would be a nice contrast. Keeping them clean is the same as having black wheels. Every time I get to a chain maintenance, I whip out the plexus and I clean the wheels obsessively.

Every time I come home from a ride, the bike goes on stands, gets cleaned and waxed including the rims...

I had a bike with white rims once....what a pain in the rear to keep them clean as once they get dirty they look really bad.

I had a gsxr1000 with white wheels.
The wheels were white for 2 days...the day I bought it and the day I sold it.
Otherwise they were brake dust black.

Yep, it was my 02 gsxr1000 that had white wheels too.

I think it would look great if you can match the matte blue!

I wish Suzuki would have offered the matte blue for the first year like the GT but have a feeling that will come in the next couple years.

Absolutely. If you get a paint code and a manufacturer for that color many other white 22 owners are going to want that color. Post when you find it.
