That's an understatement....the Cadillac White is a Pearl White

i actually looked at that one first, but it's more of a white/platinum sort of vibe, too much silver. i want this bike to be white. like, retina searing, see it from space, gotta sport some shades to look kind of white.

and i kno the escalade white is a pearl, i meant a colored pearl over white, like dp19 over white. it's towards the bottom of this page

mercedes SL white. I did my bmw that color. I wouldnt recommend that color to anyone around me but your far enough away.

Go with the pearl white What year is your ride, basically what color is your frame ? make sure you paint the inners as well. They look great sanded smooth

it's an 06, silver frame. i thought about polishing the frame and swingarm, but i dunno if i want to pull the motor just to polish the frame. maybe if i go big bore i'll polish and clearcoat the frame.

I'd suggest looking in person at a paint supply shop (color chip samples) because you can see the particle size of a fine white pearl or one of a slightly bigger size and then the bass boat huge particle size. There are many combos of white + blue, white + gold, or white + purple pearls over the base coat of white. One of the biggest choices that will make your bike very bright and a clean white is to spray the panels with white only...maybe a bit of blue and black to hellp it hide / cover quicker, but many oem colors have a small amout of yellow, red, of other toners that take away the cleaness of a straight white.

The fine pearls more less look like a coat of silk laying on top...very cool...and the more you put on the darker it gets...just like a candy coat. You sholud spray a test panel....spray your base color and let it dry...then put strips of 2" tape up the panel overlaping just a hair. Then starting from one end put on a pearl coat...pull a piece of tape off...put on a coat of pearl...pull a strip of tape...going all the way up. In the end you can compare 2 coats of pearl to 6 coats...you'll probably find that 2 -4 coats looks best...any more and it starts to look like a metalic...not like the subtle pearl.

The two hard parts of painting are picking the colors and preping the panels...painting is the easy part.

Polishing can make you a slave. You're only concerned with exposed areas. Just curious, I don't really like the look of the black frame and inners with white paint. Make sure we see the final outcome.

I was in the same boat you are at this time last year, my 06 was born black/grey. i wanted white, wasnt sure if i wanted pearl or just bright white. I looked at alot of chips and asked around. The paint chips were alot different then the online samples. I ended up buying 06LE white after a dumb-azz apinted messed my paint up (and I crashed). Custom color and paint is tricky, just get what you want, and go look at the color chips, online is almost useless for anything more than ideas.
