I am thinking of putting on an ESCORT PASSPORT SR-7, But also thought of a ESCORT 8500 X50 and a Blinder M20 Laser Jammer, The SR-7 Has a Laser Jammer Built in, Anyone know which would be the BEST combination to run? As well as most effective???

Man.....does no one have any advice on detectors and jammers? I was kinda anxious to see this topic replied to myself. I have problems with the law myself so I am wanting to invest money in some preventative measures myself. Hook it up fellas.

The jammers generally DON'T work.
I run a Escort Solo. It seems to do the job.

Busa_Boy_69 yup would like to see anyone have any of these of something better, jammers I am leary of BUT why not that and they have some spray stuff too and photo sprays for license plates etc.. just curious what to get to make it more stealth as well as something to look out for johnny law.

I know the one that cost 800 bucks is suppose to be the best but you have to mount the jammer under the headlight and it cannot get wet.

Ks... has a jammer and it works. Lasar that is! Escort 8500 and ZR3 Jammer both hard mounted on the Busa..

I was thinking of one of these combo's: Either ESCORT PASSPORT SR-7, or the ESCORT 8500 X50 and the Blinder M20 Laser Jammer.

Go with the escort setup. That's what I'm doing for my car in a few.

But for a couple of hundred bucks more you can get the bel rx75 laser pro which mounts the radar detector concealed in your bodywork. All you'll have is a litte control module you can mount somewhere....or you could even hide that and just mount the speaker and LED light where you can see it. That way you won't have to keep taking off your radar detector when it's parked.

I put the cheaper component radar detector from Bel on my old bike (the one that doesnt have the laser detector option) and it worked like a charm. Only a little control unit on the handlebars. i.e....never had any theft problems.

I'm seriously leaning towards the x50, dunno about the laser detection.... not even sure it would be worth the extra $$$ .... Just really waiting to make sure that the sportvue works with the x50 vs valentine before I purchase. Either will be transportable between vehicles and bike. I'm actually wiring up stuff now for it

Check in with Radar Roy at "Radarbusters.com" and you will learn a great deal about what works and what doesn't.

I have an Escort 8500 X50 mounted on my busa along with a laser jammer purchased from Radar Roy. I'm not sure how well the laser jammer works? None of them are going to be 100%. The laser beam is only 18 inches in diameter at 500 ft. If the beam hits your headlight without hitting the jammer reciever, you are toast!

I also have a H.A.R.D. (Helmet assisted radar detection) which was a great investment. I used an Escort Solo S2 for a while and it worked great except I had a hard time paying attention to it and on many occasions it would be to late by the time I happened to look down at the detector. After I installed the H.A.R.D. system in my helmet, I get all the moving radar units long before I am within range.

I still have my Escort Solo S2 if anyone is interested in it. I'd sell it quite reasonable!

I guess if one knows what they are doing, a radar/laser ticket is pretty easy to beat. We have a local attorney here that does nothing but traffic tickets and he has a tremendeous record of beating radar/laser tickets. He took care of a couple of tickets for me and I didn't even have to appear in court. I got a neglegent driving ticket in October $528 for lifting the front tire on the onramp to the freeway. He went to court with me and beat it. He had seven tickets that day in court and won all seven cases. He told me he hardly ever lost a radar ticket because those things just aren't that accurate. He uses fact sheets from the manufacturers to win these cases. He did tell me that his best streak of success was 870 won before he lost a speeding ticket. Pretty damn good odds I'd say. Several of my buddies have used this guy and I've yet to hear of anyone loosing.

By the way, he told me he had never lost a ticket with the use of an airplane. So I'm thinking the kid who got the 205 mph ticket on the Honda RC51 simply had the wrong attorney.

Definitely check out the <a href="http://www.radarbusters.com">Radar Busters<a> info. I bought an Escort Passport 8500X50 after reading the reviews, but haven't had the opportunity to use it. Also bought a PNI Traveler II, but haven't tried it yet either.

i would seriously recoinsider buying and installing a laser "jammer". i am in LE and a buddy of mine (trooper) was shooting laser one day and just like everything else its the same on every car. untill he pinged a ricer and the gun went crazy when he tried to get his speed. to make a long story short the guys car was impounded and he payed big fines not to mention they had to take his car apart to find the illegal equipment. but i guess it worked, he didnt get a speeding ticket...to each his own. stick with the detectors, no Val 1 fans?

Form what I've read a laser jammer is not illegal. I'm no lawyer and I'm not in law enforcement, so don't take my word on it......but everything I read says it is not illegal.

Are you sure it is illegal....or maybe just where you live....or maybe that ricer has a nice big lawsuit on his hands for your police department???

Again, I don't know....I know radar jammers are illegal because we would have planes crashing everywhere...but I thought laser jammers were legal.

minnesota, and illegal here(laser jammers). so disable/remove before entering the state, or take your chances.

I payed more attention too the radar dector than the road - everytime it went beep I'd let off the gas look at the speedo bla bla bla. Read the traffic and just have some common sense.

Watch truckers - it works for me -

well i use it more for "heads up" to make sure I'm not doin something stupid rather than to really avoid the ticket ... I figure it can help warn me but if I'm really getting on it, then I'm either running or stopping.... either way I'm gonna get a ticket in most cases

And yeah the V1 is a great unit .... still holding out to see which of the V1 or the X50 will work with the Sportvue unit
