There was a gunshow down here in Lakeland, FL...( was hoping to see our blackwoodknives.com rep there....)

Anyways...so I took my wife and she sets her eyes on a nice little .380 Nickel Plated Bersa...this thing has more safetys built in than a Nun's panties....it's sweet.

So I am off to find something that fits me...my hands....and my purpose (conceal carry...as hers will be too).
I looked at every darn table in both rooms of that show...saw everything there was to see...and I settled on this...For the price...it backed up pretty well and building a good reputation.
It's as "glockish" as I could find without the 600~800 price tag.
Remember..I was buying two guns!

I almost went for a 9mm Bersa as well (it fits nicely) cause this company doesn't have the "name" that some others do...but those that have owned them or do own them...have not ever relayed any negativity to me. So it helps keep the costs down.
But...the dealer already sold the 9mm Bersas b4 I arrived at the show...so I chose this one instead.
Here is another look with the extended grip clip....better for my wide hands. Package comes with 3 clips, case and holster.

Between the two of us carrying on the Busa, or in our home...I think at leat one of us will drop any would-be thieves.

720.00 after taxes/fees for both pieces.

Nice looking XD. Kind of like a 1911 meets glock. Nifty concept though. My training counselor was kind of high on them. I've never gotten used to shooting one though, weird egros for me.

but, BERSA. It reminds me of a motorcycle analogy. "$20 helmet for a $20 head"

You mentioned concealed carry (which is a wonderful idea) with it. I take it you love you wife, so why bestow an inferior firearm on her. If you are going to go "plinking" with it that's one thing. But to rely on it to save HER LIFE, no way in a million years.

I have enough problems with relying on 9mm (.45 fan here), but to couple 9mm with Bersa quality is insane.

I don't mean to flame you. I'm just worried about relying on it for her safety. If price is an issue, you can find nice 44 special revolvers that go bang EVERY time you pull the trigger. Some S&W's can be found for around $200 (used).

Just one gun nut's opinion.

I have thought on Bersa for more than 2 years before making my own purchase...my research infact is what lead her to look at them. Normally she is a S&W or Berretta(sp?) fan...but the costs.....! Like she said...one gun isn't going to kill any "more dead" than another...dead is dead.

In addition to the personal references and a friend that gave me the "what's - what" with Bersa...the ONLY issue that any seemed to have was a need to massage the ramp into the chamber (it "could" cause one of the last two rounds in the clip to jam) ...but even that would only happen under a rapid fire scenario...sometimes it even worked itself out.
But seriously...if you haven't dropped somebody with the first 5 rounds...you had better have other plans.

Here are a few other sources that seem to agree that the Bersa is a highly underated weapon...and none of them are the manufacturer's.

I googled this gun/brand to death....it 99.99% of the time....it always came back the same.
An extremely reliable weapon that does it's job WITHOUT the sticker shock of many less reliable weapons.

If I or my wife ever experience any issues with the Bersa....I will share them. Hiding or not mentioning them to others wouldn't do anyone justice....not when it comes to personal protection.
These next few weeks will see several hundred rounds through each of the guns...I'll post up down the road on them both.
For the record....in our combined 69 years of lfe, niether of us has ever been in a situation where a weapon was needed...but we figure our luck will change someday.

Nice guns, Look up the kahr PM9, I'm a cop and I use this gun as a back up and shoot great with it. It is easy to hide and light as hell, about 1lb loaded.

Like I said, I didn't mean any offence. Just sharing some of my experiences. It's all about personal choice.

I personally wouldn't rely on one with my life, but to each his (or her) own.
