Gun guys-reloads safe?? 4 target practice?

Durn Jinksy I told you we had a lot in common.
I have 'a few' rifle trophies laying around myself.
Shot a lot of pistol but I always got more fun out of long dist rifle matches.

Now thats 2 things we can do...go shootin and ridin'...:cheerleader:

Cops dont use reloads because of Dept policy and politics.
Not many officers would stake their or their partners lives on a reload unless they made it themselves and that is against policy.
Officers must carry dept issue ammo in dept issue guns.
Keeps things clean later for investigative purposes.
The ballistics of the shoot need to be easy to determine.
If you had 5 officers carrying 5 diff types of ammo imagine how diff the investigation would be / This way they knew whose rnds are whose !

Ps......The blacktip ammo Jinkster refers to is Israeli submachine gun ammo. HOT STUFF. About 100fps faster than your average 9mm. Designed for UZIs.
Most modern guns will gobble it up but you will need to check your extractors and other small related parts as it can create some probs.
Glocks especially when shot with hot stuff will loose the extractor lip and fail to extract. Not all the time but having worked on the range
for 7yrs I saw it all.

Ok I hear that.I used deliver+pump gas (HEATING FUEL @ BRANCHVILLE STATE PRISON IN indiana. They are all issued glocks.I even know the rules if inmate escaping must fire 1 warning shot after that he is fair game.Only the guards outside fence are packing.

When I was working in Wi I. Bought some reloads and they all acted fine. But they were also being sold from a gun shop and had the places name and number on them.

My take on reloads is to plink they're ok. as long as your not plinking with magnums and long action rifles. Just watch for squib loads and loads that have more recoil than normal. If either occurs stop and check your weapon. If you really wanted you could weigh some and see how accurate they are from bullet to bullet.
Also if you really wanna save reload yourself. Kinda a bad time price wise to start but a good hobby for winter and can save you some money in the long run.

Warning shot? You would think the Bars, orange jump suite, razor wire, and fence would be warning enough.

I used talk with guards they had escort me inside 2 laundry erea. There dryers were gas powerd they had 6 1,000 gal tanks. They gotta fire warning shot but then shoot 2 kill not wound.Because of the threat 2 public if inmate escapes.
Some interesting people in there.Talked to a inmate told me he had never been in any trouble with law ever.came home one night his wife in bed with another man.He stabbed him 17 times killed him.HE GOT 64 YEARS TO THINK IT OVER IN Branchville thats a work prison you have do a job or go to seg. They have cut grass with push mowers pays 22 cents a hour.

Just a warning about reloads and the Glock.. Because the gun barrel is hammer forged on a mandrel and not broach cut you should not shoot soft lead non jacketed rounds. Fail to follow this and damage to the barrel due to over pressure from build up of lead is possible. Im a Glock armorer and here is a link you should read if you decide to shoot non factory ammo in your Glock. PS: Glock will not cover damage to the gun caused by non factory ammo.
