Whew... The fastet one I ever issued was 142 in a 55. Had to wait at the bums house for him to get back to give it to him.

Man not sure what to offer because I wasnt there. But alot of the advice here is good. At least get the free chat to find out what can be done. At the worst the ticket gets reduced to something that doesnt require vasoline.... Also if at worst it gets reduced and you pay a fine, do some community service in leu of all the points or jail it might be worth the attrny fees. Good luck. Look humble too when you go in there. Smart arse looking violator tends to make hair on judges neck rise!

Under Arresting officers certification, why does it read US Postal Service? dude!! dont tell you me got a ticket by a mail man from a mail truck!!!!

On a serious note. did you go to jail? here in california I think anything of 100 mph, if it is stated on the ticket, I think they are required to take you to jail, impound your bike and shove a pole up your... ehem. anyway.. did you get taken away?
Goodluck man-sounds like a bunch of bull

I'm not a lawyer, but it seems to me the troopers ticket could have many fabrications. Here in NJ if I receive a ticket in the mail, I make THEM prove that I broke the law. No video, no proof. Plan your defense carefully.

With the group I ride, We all have black colored bikes...mines being a 2k3 black/silver busa, some ravens, some black ninja's...we all race as a group. Anytime we see lights, IF we decide to pull over we do it far ahead then we all get off our bikes and start walking around each others bikes..kinda like a musical chairs thing. We all deny speeding and sometimes we get lucky, other times he'll try to pull tickets out of the air but we always contest in court and luckily we've won without problems (so far. Banging furiously on wood)..

Here's something to consider.

Here in hawaii, they started a van radar system where vans would be parked on the side of the road, snap a pic of your license and your speeding ticket was mailed. The state was raking in big bucks untill one defendant asked the simple question. "Why am I being issued a ticket if I was not driving the car?". The judge dropped the case and in all future cases for those who contested lawyers plead that tickets are issued to drivers, not vehicles and that in ever van radar instance, drivers credentials were not verified. and EVERY case was thrown out. the state stopped the van radar thing because the news stations started broadcasting the success rates of cases thrown out.

If you were not pulled over and your credentials were not checked, they cannot legally prove you were driving the vehicle. I'd contest it.

If you choose to just pay and move on you will have 4 points added to your license. Ga reports most citations to Fl. DMV but Fl only ads 1/2 the points to your license. normally speeding 15+ over gets you 4 and careless driving gets you another 4 for a total of 8. BUT under the iterstate gidelines they follow you will only get 4. Personally I would ask BT for his input then consider contacting a traffic citation specialist.

Dude did they take u in? In Ohio for that kinda speed they would usually impound your bike and bring you into the station. If it makes u feel any better I got one a few weeks back although I was only pushing close to 90 not 145! That is awesome by the way. lol. If your gonna get a ticket do it right don't half ass it.

This thread is getting confusing. Some riders have a story to tell, some have a solution to the ticket, and some are questioning why he was doing 145. On the ticket issue, if you pay, you are admitting guilt for something that happened when the trooper had enough time to punish someone at random. Fight the ticket with a lawyer.
On the speeding part, well I know why I bought the Busa, and it wasn't to go 55,65,or 75. So don't look surprised when a rider is going 145 or 195, because we all know what happens when we get on this thing.

Yup. He needs to get a attorney and fight the ticket, get a loan or whatever...

Fastest I have been popped for in Illinois is 89 in a 55 and ended up getting court supervision out of it..I got popped in Florida once doing wheelies, they let us go with careless operation tickets..125 bucks..

I never want to get caught speeding in Ohio, what a Nazie state for traffic violations....Ilinois state troopers aint much better...

Good luck on the ticket man, get a attorney and get it reduced.......
