Millenials and motorcycles

I like my sterotypes, and I'm keeping them!
I prefer to preconcieve my notions, then get to know the individual...hopefully to be proven wrong.
Millenials are all the f'tard socialist, safe space, college kids today, and recent grads that can't get a job because they majored in an imaginary career.
If you're currently in this conversation, and you fall in that age group...congratulations, you're not one of them.
And, for that, myself and the future of humanity thank you.:D

You are categorized with your fellow millennials, you are one. Perhaps you don't exhibit the same traits as all of them, but you're one of them, like it or not. Using technology is not the same as depending on it, something your generation (granted not all of you) absolutely is.
You've busted your ass for a decade? Listen, good for you. I've been busting my ass longer than you've had an ass to bust.
I might not exhibit the same traits, and I dont mind it all , but I dont depend on technology at all, I dont know where you got that from. I've been busting my ass since I was 12 and my father started his own company and I learned my many talents that led me to where I am.

You, as an individual, may not depend on technology more than a specific individual from a previous generation, however your generation taken as a whole relies on technology far more than previous generations. How many of your friends know how to read a map for example?
As far as you working since your were 12, that's all well and good, but when you were born I was already working, and had been for years.

My generation may rely on technology more than me, but to catoragize a whole group of people is a far reach. I can read a map, yet alone can a lot of people my age and younger. I'm glad you have been working since before I was born, yet every other person born before you has been working and hasn't bragged about it.

There is no "may rely on technology", they do. Again, you as an individual may not. You may know how to read a map, and perhaps all your friends do, that is merely anecdotal. The vast majority of your generation have never been taught, they rely on GPS or similar technology to show them where they are and how to get where they want to go. I'm not pulling categories out of thin air, I'm relying on data which has been collected since the early 70's. Your generation is more reliant on technology than previous ones. This is supported by evidence collected from your generation.......
I stated that I had been working longer than you have been breathing because you asserted that you had been "busting your ass for over a decade" after dismissively commenting on someones service to his country. I'm not bragging, simply showing you some perspective.

I have never identified as a millennial. Goggle it and it says I am.
It's on the internet, must be true. The fact that you're relying on technology to tell you which generation you are indicates you are indeed a millennial.....:lol::poke:

All kidding aside the years in which generations begin and end are hazy, it depends on who you're asking a lot of the time.

Had to lol

At work i always bitch about kids....

I think the previous comments about the previous generation talking about the younger one is very accurate. I used to be amazed and shocked at the conversations these high school kids would have walking out by me in the school’s parking lot. I was always shaking my had and thinking, we are screwed. I’m sure my parent’s generation had the same reaction back then.

All it's gonna take is a huge solar flare to take out the satellites, GPS and communications, and we will all be forced to go back to rudimentary skills.
Any major catastrophe will change the way we think and act.
During the Christchurch NZ earthquakes which destroyed the city and its infrastructure, people actually had to come out of their homes and talk to their neighbours.
It was a revelation, the rug was pulled from under our feet and we all had to survive for weeks with no power, no phones, no internet, no sewerage, no running water, no drainage, it was good for us!
Going back to basic living and survival is a very good thing to act as a 're-set' for the human spirit and soul.

LOL, that last sentence was funny!!
I think you are both right though, we can't expect baby boomers and millennials to have values which are 100% compatible, the past and how the environment changes makes that impossible.
When I look at the millenials, I just accept that I am getting old. That said, if I lose my Iphone without the GPS while driving somewhere new I am in serious trouble.

Back to Harley, I sold mine because I ended up having too many things on two wheels. But I actually enjoyed it, was fun riding provided one does not chase 100mph.

Right now their stock at 11 times earnings seems pretty attractive, even though sales seems to head lower than during the financial crisis. Analysts are thinking 9.5% growth over the next five years. Perhaps their venture into electrical bikes breaks the Vtwin brand loyalty and gives them a new run. Who knows...

I didn't see a really like button or I would have pressed that 10 times....

Listen, good for you for doing your duty. I was simply saying I'm not going to be categorized with people my age for their capabilities. Are you not using the same technology as me?
I've busted my milineal ass for over a decade and just because you were born earlier doesnt make your generation THE authority. History repeats itself.

"This doesn't paint a broad brush stroke on all millennials-every generation was/is not perfect."

Please note this disclaimer line I put in my post and pull in your horns. If you don't fit in this category, I am happy for you, millions of your fellow millennials certainly do however.

I probably don't use all the same tech as you are, I have an old style flip phone that can call and sort of text. I had to adapt to using tech but I was raised with zero tech except a slide rule...:)

I think you are taking the more “mature” guy’s comments the wrong way. No one is saying that we are like every millennial, but that millennials in general tend to be that way. I’m 33 and have to agree. I’m embarrassed by my generation in general and is the reason I don’t have many friends my age. As a matter of fact, some of my friends are retired seniors.

...oh I'm not mature, just experienced...
