theres not much you can do once hes on the bike so talk to him before and try to make him understand. if hes the type of kid that has to impress or win at everything i can see this turning ugly. maybe you can talk to your buds so they wont mess with him.
last year at the track i saw(and talked to) a guy on a 14(his first bike) with about 30 miles on it. he was talkin all this crap to his buddies with busas about how he was going to spank them, this and that. 1st run he stood it straight up in 3rd gear. it shot out from under him, totaled the bike and got him a ride in a ambulance. dont know how bad he was hurt but ill never forget it.

I guess it depends on the group, but I think beginers should stay AWAY from group rides....that are spirited. Just my 2 pennies
