ZX-10

Well there I was, minding my own business after a long hard
day at work. Trust me 10 hrs behind the wheel of a Chevy Astro
van is enough to wear ANYONE out. Any hoo, I was heading northbound
on US 41 (Nebraska Ave.) just north of Sunset. In my mirrors
I see a small pack of headlights closing quick. Mind you I
was doing 90 so when I say quick I mean quick. In this
pack was 2 ZX-10s, an R-1 and CBR1000RR and one other bike
I never did ID. The second ZX slowed to give me the once over.
I gave him the thumbs up he returned the compliment. I pulled
over to the right preparing to turn off US 41 on to a nicely
twisty little road called NEWBERGER Rd. The whole pack turned
off in front and waited for me. NEWBERGER starts with a longish
straight followed by a tight 90 left then a 90 right then a
90 left. Then comes a short straight followed by a 90 right.
Another 90 right that turns into a 170 left sweeper that ends
in a 70 right. A quick little straight that ends in a
left-right(160)-left S bend then a right 90 sweeper to a small straight
then a left 90 sweeper. A longer straight flows into another
left- right- left S bend to a straight that T's into LIVINGSTON Rd.
Well the pack went screaming into this tasty road. But they
could not shake the Busa. She stayed glued to the ZX's tail
like a Zeke on a F4F Wildcat. The straights are to short and
the road too narrow for passing but that ZX was unable to
do anything to shake the Busa. Was a good short run. At the
end All that ZX pilot could do was shake his head. So go out
not with fear but with a healthly respect. And remember its
all just for fun..no money or pretty wenches awaited anyone
at the end. ANd I'm sure that had the positions been reversed
that ZX pilot would have been right there on MY tail. I am
after all one of the worlds slowest pilots..I just happen to
own the worlds best motorcycle!!!

Right on. I think that we may be over doing it talking about the ZX 10. I know that I ride the best bike that there is.

Left me drooling for more, way to represent. Anytime we can leave them shaking their heads, it's been a good day.

What I want to know, is why I allways hear on this board about people getting challenged and it never happens to me!!! why dont I get any fun!!

Any time I come up next to bikes I just slowly cruise by them, and no one ever tries to keep up, they just let me go by. Cars move out of my way, other bikes move out of my way. I waant someone to chalenge ME darn it!!!!

I feeeel soooo left out.... now I am sad

Hey! I know that road... It has to be one of my favorites... Nice work Raider.... Sorry I'll be missing you and crew tomorrow, I'll catch up next weekend for certain, maybe a weekday Hooters or Winghouse meet up is in order?

We can try, might be best if it was in the evening tho...
Work has me in the field from 0600 to 1900. And since in
the field means being at the north end of the Suncoast toll
road ready to roll @ 0600 thats going to make for a hard time
getting together for lunch.

For what its worth, it wasn't really a challenge match so
much as a friendly sparring match. We both had some in reserve.
We both stayed to the right of the double yellow line. No
stupid chances or moves, respect for each others safety etc.
I just don't think that he expected a Busa to hang in the corners.
A common misconception I've found, even amongst those who
should know better...Busa owners themselves. Ya has to think
of the Busa as an F-14 TOMCAT... It can turn just as tight
and hard as An F-16

Oh yeah baby, got em on his own terms right!!! All the guys I usually ride with are on l600, 750 or 1000 so naturally they assume I wouldn't have a chance in turns. I can't wait until I get the opportunity to prove them wrong. Good job.
