I know this has been posted about several times and most are probably sick of hearing about it but i just need to get it out. WHAT is wrong with people i wave at everyone who rides regardless what there on i look at it as hey at least your on two wheels enjoying a ride right? now i can understand not all people are going to see you wave for whatever reason but when they look right at you when you wave and just snub you its like wtf.... are you intimidated by some one who rides a busa or are you just that big of a premadona that you think your to good to wave at fellow rider? news flash people your not better your just being an @$$, it happened to me twice today i was on my back home and there were a couple guys on harleys i thru a wave the first guy waved back but his buddy just looked at me like why was i waving..... then i left my house to go to the store really quick and this dued on a ZX14 was coming up, i tossed him and his buddy a wave the dued on the 14 just looked at me and kept on going, i was like, i know your driving a bloated alien but im not holding it aginst you....... i get this every day so its not a shock to me that people act like this, and the whats really sad is it seems its the younger generation acting like this 9 times out of 10 its the older guys waving back, id just like to say loose the ego people and enjoy what ever you are riding, dont snub people becuase they have a different taste. end of rant.....

Well who really cares if they dont wave? To me it tells me that they are the one with the problem. I wave to everyone regardless of what they ride. I have even caught myself waving at riders while driving the truck. (yeah I get wierd looks sometimes) If just simply being friendly is unappreciated, then oh well. There will be others down the road who will appreciate it!

I try to wave at everyone.I get a wave back most of the time and I dont always wave back because sometimes I am in the zone when I ride or sometimes I just dont see it in time. There are just some guys who wont wave at you because we are on sport bikes but my feeling is we are all out on 2 wheels for the enjoyment right.

I even wave at scooter dudes:laugh: I do notice that the guys who never return the respect are guys on HD's with the Ape hangers. Is it difficult to let those silly bars go or something?

Keep in mind that some guys are so green they are fearful of taking their hands off the bars to wave.

I wave because I CHOOSE to......at anyone on 2 wheels (mopeds and bikes included). I wave not because I expect to get a wave back.
With this mindset/attitude, I have never allowed a complete stranger in another bike to tick me off in the 25+ years I've been riding. My choice.....I retain control. Too easy

I typically wave at anyone and 99% wave back. Rarely snubbed by Harley riders and when it does happen I dwell on it for all of 1 second. I have never been flipped off (that wouldn't go over too well).

I'm sure I'll get flamed for this but after 25 years of waving I'm personally sick of it and wish it would go away. I draw the line while in traffic or large divided highways. Sorry but you're not getting a return wave from me when you're 200'+ feet away or surrounded by cars and semis.

On top of that I own a Corvette which also involves an idiotic wave. Those discussions revolve around which generation thinks they're too good to wave at others. C2 guys think they own the only real Corvettes, C5 guys think anything less isn't worthy of a wave, C6 guys just don't know yet because they're noobs, C3 guys feel their cars are the epitome of the HP wars....
Of course those things are never said by an owner of a specific generation. It's just the butt hurt guys making up reasons why another generation didn't wave back at them.

How about some people just want to enjoy their ride and their own business?

i always wave at bikers, regardless of what theyre on (ok, I take it back... i have a hard time waving at scooters lol) and I get waves back more often than not. I think at least around here, most bikers are friendly to eachother. But if they dont wave, then I dont mind. Maybe they havent been riding long and have no idea whats going on. I know when I first started riding it took a couple weeks to realize why people kept waving at me lol.

I wave to all and 90% of the riders here in TN will return the wave, those that just look and dont wave my wave turns quickly into telling them they are #1:moon:

Take a chill pill and a beer :poke:

If it bothers you that much then just don't wave first :poke:  Let them wave first and if they don't wave at you then it's someone you better off not waving to in the first place :laugh:

I always wave as almost a force of habit. Like Sum Beach said, I even do it when I'm driving in my truck. Either way, some people don't wave, could be a bad day, could be a bad attitude, either way, you did what you wanted, they did what they wanted. End of story. Don't let it get to you. Lucky for you, whether they wave or not, your prolly not going to meet with them and have a beer so its easy to forget about :beerchug:. I'll have a beer with you though!
