Iridium Helmet Shield

Need an opinion here. Looking to get an Iridium shield for the Shoei, and can't decide between Blue, Chrome, or Gold...I know the pics arn't the best, and the sun really faded the colors on the helmet, but what do you think would be the best color?

Also, I know Iridium Wind screens may give radar detectors a problem, will an Iridium shield make my radar act goofy?

either the blue or silver one would work best... depends on how blue the flames parts are.

and are you talkin about the windscreen on the bike for the radar detectors? I've heard that the iridium ones get chipped pretty easy from road stuff/rocks so not sure how much of an investment that would be to have it get scratched up

lol....no blue flames on the Helmet...told ya its some bad pictures. Flames are just white with black. Yah, Ive heard that Iridium windscreens for the bike can cause issues for a radar detector...if ya have a radar detector mounted on the back side of the windscreen / could make your detector act goofy

Can get the shields on Ebay for about $55.00 shipped compared to $65.00 from Shoei...so not that unreasonable price wise. Has anyone used one of these shield's? Do you like them, what about at night? Do they shield alot of the bright sun in the day

I'd go with silver - but echo the comments about the easy scratching! Got to be careful - but there are still things that go flying into you on the road...

I have the Gold and have had the Gold for 6 years

. Changed once when I bought my new Shoei this year and had used the old one for about 30,000 miles! Wouldn't leave home without it , plus you look like a POWER RANGER (

I know its not on the list but go with a yellow shield. Amazing how much cleaner and crisp everything looks with a yellow shield. It may look awful with the color of your helmet but funtion over style for me.

I vote chrome/silver

I've got an Arai with a blue iridium shield (not sure if there is a difference in darkness). Can't stand riding at night with that shield on. It's just too dark. During the day, the tint works like a champ though. Blocks the sunlight very well without making it feel dark outside or causing any unwanted side effects. Fortunately, the Arai I have takes 10 seconds to swap visors.

Silver is what I use on my X-Eleven. Very nice. Be careful because they can scratch fairly easy.

Just the cheap ones (Detectors). I have an Iridium screen with an escort SOLO 2. No discernible difference in range or sensitivity. There is some suggestion that they actually deflect/diminish LASER reflections but I haven't seen any data to support the theory.

I'd go for the silver.

Had an Iridium shield once and NEVER again. After one riding season it looked like hell. Tap it against anything and it scratches, even hard shelled bugs left pock marks all over it. They look cool at first, but for the short life they aren't worth it imo.
