My muzzle brake got here couple days ago & came with a crush washer......From what i've researched tho, for a brake that must be indexed properly a peel washer is needed instead. Should I jus say screw it & have a gunsmith install it?

Does it have any ports on top ?
If so just make sure they are lined up best as possible with center line down sights.
This is when you may need a peel or two.
To get it perfectly centered so it is ambidextrous and oblivious to hold is diff with only one thick washer and sometimes not always requires one or two thin ones as well.

Does not have to be perfect as measured by devices.
Your putting it on a .223 rifle correct ?
This caliber will never develop any probs in semi auto if its a hair off.

yeah its 5.56 so basically a .223, I wonder how it will look with peel washer.....look like shims stacked together? may look like piss.

Peel washers are so thin they usually come in a roll that has to be separated.
The get bent or messed up if not.
Thats why they call them peel washers.
you have to 'peel' one or two off the roll.
Gotta heat em up a bit they will peel right off.

When stacked up 1-2 or 30 its diff to see they are more than one.

Any gunsmith putting barrel devices on 5.56 rifles will HAVE TO HAVE SOME?
No way around it as just about all use them.
