What happens while riding if this problem occurs?
did a quick search and so far no real truth to it.just rumors so far
I don't know the details, but when I brought mine in for service on Monday the tech at the dealer informed me of the recall and switched out the ignation under the recall.. wish I had more info.

Its a spark limiter that your bikes have.
That why Blancas faster......![]()

what exactly did they replace.
Sorry, didn't know it was a mystery recall, so didn't ask for more details. My service guys are good, so I trust em when they take care of stuff.

suzuki recalls 2008 hayabusa
improperly routed wiring could cause loss of power
jun. 25, 2008 american suzuki motor corp. Has issued a recall notice for the 2008 hayabusa.
According to a recall notice filed with the national highway traffic safety administration (nhtsa), the lead wire of the ignition switch harness on a 2008 hayabusa may be incorrectly routed, causing it to bend rather than slide when the handlebar is moved from side to side.
Repeated handlebar movements can cause damage to the ignition switch lead wires, resulting in intermittent or complete loss of electrical power.
A problem with the wiring of the ignition system has led to a recall of 9,109 hayabusa motorcycles.
2008 hayabusa owners are advised to visit suzuki dealerships for an inspection. If the problem is detected, dealers will reroute the lead wire by replacing the lower portion of the ignition switch.
An estimated 9,109 motorcycles could be affected by this problem.
