This blessed land. As we sit back and hope and pray (some) just remember how lucky we are.
No matter who wins local or natl thank your lucky stars we had the right and ability to freely vote today.
The rest of the world watches us with envy at this time. We have the ability to freely discuss our differences here on the Internet whereas in many countries you cannot even do that much less criticize in public the ones in power.

So no matter who's your candidate remember how lucky we are.
Right or wrong, messed up or not we are still the greatest nation on earth because of the freedoms we still have.

I dont. election time is about going to the swing states and swing states only to tell people what they can do for the ppl of the swing states and cud giv a chit about the rest. politics thats all. when we lose the electorial college it will be a much better place to live. the guy with the MOST votes shud win period.

this is always the ugly time during our country. my vote means NOTHING is a state that will go to Obama based on the electorial college. its a piss poor system. and if you dont reach enough electorial votes the senate votes in the president.

the rest of the world is not in envy of our political system. not by a long shot. bottom line is some peoples votes mean more then others. thats hardly being able to vote freely.

when was the last time you saw any president go to a state with 2 or 3 electorial votes? never that's when.

the electorial college essentially pretends that fewer people live where they do more ppl live where they dont.??? if you live in a big or small state ur vote will mean something different there then in another state. the electorial college makes whoever is running for POTUS give a rats ass about the small states with few electorial votes.

if a candidate get just 51% of the votes in a particular state he gets 100% of the states votes. what a joke!

there is truly a great joy and happiness in this kind of voting time, but on the other hand I can not help but feel sad and heavy at the fact that what ever the outcome, it's still split right down the middle. This HUGE divide that exists, seems to be stronger and more blunt or clear every time.
Now.... believe what you will, left, right, middle wing what ever, as it's part of a free and so called democratic system, but the fact stands that a divided house hold will fall, and this too.... can become reality in this case.
my 2 cents worth

Brett you missed the mssg.
You used the word vote like ten times but still complain it is worthless.
Would you rather not vote at all? Rather not even have the right to vote?
Wanna live in a communist dictatorship where one guy rules until he dies?
Nnnnope! You voted and exercised a freedom many do envy.

Don't knock a process that has worked for over 200yrs.

If Obama gained the popular vote but Romney made 270 electoral votes would you still complain?
You probably didn't want Gore to be President and most likely didn't complain about Bush winning.

cause my vote is worthless. im an independent. I could give a rats ass about party loyalty. it makes no difference who is running for office in this state whether it be a local or national election. if ur not voting blue then ur vote is worthless cause all ppl care about is voting for their party vs. who will do a better job for them personally.

voting is nothing special. its done in most all civilized countries. just because you have been doing something for 200 years wrong doesnt mean its the best way of doing it. the POPULAR vote is what should count. Gore should have been president period! more AMERICANS voted for him then anyone else.

my complaint is the electorial college period. its a poorly designed system. candidates can simply ignore states when they are polling by large numbers cause they know they will win the electorial college for that state because ppl could care less if donald duck was running for POTUS as long as its their party leader. wat a joke!

where have the two candidates been the last two months? what states? yes the swing states. they could give a chit about the other states and since we our a country that is made up of 50 states not 4.... they should be going to ALL states to promote their message.

I voted for Bush but Gore won. Gore should have been president. Bush was a terrible president and so is Obama. more proof the electorial college is a failed system.

folks the president DOES NOT MATTER. its the senate and the house that makes the rules...and when we have nothing but divided party lines in both that stalemate any progress ....we the citizens...the hard working...tax paying...law abiding....CITIZENS are left with the tomfoolery of this government. i pray we find a way to influence this country and its people that hard work... saving...helping your neighbor (not with a hand out but with good examples and good encouragement) and honest sensible intelligent leadership will be the ONLY way we are going to recover

For those that may have missed the point in Blanca's original post, here it is again. ^^^:beerchug:

I'll apologize before I speak. Sorry.
But the above comment irks me.
I believe a large portion of folks who voted for O are similar to the above.
Can't spell, can't construct sane sentences and I for sure don't know how they can make intelligent decisions regarding natl issues. The crowd celebrating in Chicago spoke volumes of the kinds of people who got what what they wanted.
Should have to write and essay and pass an IQ test before they are allowed to vote.
My 13 yr old daughter makes more sense on Facebook than the above.
There I said it, got it off my chest.
Take it any way you want it.

Cause' understanding those people in backwoods Kentucky and Tennessee that voted for Mitt is any easier  :poke:

I'm sorry I disagree. I'm sure there are the same amount of folks that voted for Mitt that are at the same level of this person. Your saying romney voters are smart and Obama voters are stupid? That's a hugh generalization. I'm going to make one as well. Most of the intelligent people and wealthy people are in the Blue states.....so there:poke:

But in this election Mr. President Obama won both the electoral vote and the Popular Vote.

That's true and I don't disagree. I'm just saying that a large portion of his voters are young and act, talk and write like that. The Romney supporters are largely older. I feel this is why obama has won twice. Because he knows how work the electronic age. The younger texter generation is taking over this country and inheriting what the older folks had. Do you think the first thing Mitt would have done after winning was send out a Tweet?

End of the day, the diff between the two major groups of sheeple is only 5%. It used to be 2% but the geographic center of the political spectrum has changed, we are becoming more socialist, willing to give up our individual freedoms and responsibilities for the security of the nanny state. It is what it is, we have been here before many times since Teddy Roosevelt, back and forth but always but within that 5%. My guess is we will be n gridlock, the spending will continue until the credit card gets put on hold, taxes will go up, spending cuts will be forced upon us by outside forces (China& Europe), basically we will be Greece on steroids, we will get through it. The outlier is the infringement upon individual liberty and trashing of the Constitution by the federal government (including the SCOTUS), this could be the game changer and be the cause serious trouble. I think all is good in the USA and we will be standing okay when all is said and done.
