I have a gearing ?

Hey fellas. My bike is stock with the regular bolt ons. I have already went -1 on the front sprocket. My question is if I went up just 1 or 2 teeth on the rear sprocket would it make worth doing? Also would going up to a 43 tooth be to much gearing for the 1/4 mile?

16/43 will put you at the top of 4th gear in the 1/4. I run a 16/42 and I am about your weight, but have a full exhuast and modded air box . The 43 took mine just out of the peak power range before I got to the lights. You should be good with either. I'm guessing you will be running about 136-138mph in the 1/4.

Here is a ratio chart and the % of change from stock. Going to a 42 will make about the same amount of change again as you did with the 16 front.

I would not change your gearing if you are wanting all around use. Go for it if you increase your hp later.

We have a few 1000' tracks one in Prescott and one in Centerville. The only 1/4 mile it has seen is the kind your not suppose to do.
