How To Know If 2002 Hayabussa Has 2003 Starter Upgrade

Hi, I just bought a 2002 hayabussa with 40k miles on it. Have heard about upgrading the starter system to a 2003 one to prevent kick back and cracking the case. How I can see if it has the upgrade already or not? Thank you in advance

See if any of your part numbers line up with these. I believe if it has the later starter on it the rest has.to be changed to match up. Keep in mind that I haven't done this upgrade myself.

These should be the part numbers for 2003-2007.

Thank you Flatlandbusa. I will check that out. If it doesn't have the upgrade, I will just add the protective sleave that the sell to prevent breaking the case in a possible kick back.
