Honda CB1000r rant

I posted a few rants before about this bike..it looks killer
like a naked version of the new CBR1000 and my gripe was
that you had to live in the u.k. to get one...

Now I read a u.k. magazine they tested it agains the cbr1000

Now I understand they detune naked versions (which I think is stew-pud as shiite but...) they detuned it to the
tune of -54hp...

The straight up CBR dyno'd at 166 hp...
the CB1000r dyno'd at .....112 hp (that's pretty crappie for 1000cc anything)

That's a heck of a lot of detuning going on...thats almost a third


I just don't get it....

Why don't they just leave the std motor alone (except for minor low end torque adjustments)
and put it in the naked bike?

So you can spend even more money getting the horse power where it should be.

Get a CBR1000, take all the plastic off except the tail, put a different headlight and a regular handlebar on it, hang on. Sport Rider mag did an article about this a month or two ago using an R1, turned out pretty neat. Full on, unneutered liter bike minus the weight of all the bodywork.
