Good and a bad side to this;
On one hand if you own a 08, the 09 price increase will keep the value up.
Downside is, if your buying a new Busa.

I'm sure the dollar vs yen has much to do with it. It was about 1 vs 92 a couple of weeks ago. A year ago it was in the mid 100s. With our economy right now, your dollar is down 10% or more to buy foreign goods.

This is exactly what a Suzuki guy told me. Our money just aint worth what it use to be.

further more it's Suzuki not the dealers. The dealers dont get much off these sales.

Let Suzuki double the price if they like.
With the price and / or lack availability of insurance for Sports bikes, no one will be able to operate one anyway.

It's the dollar being weak...but this will kill sales too...

Just like how the price of a barrel of crude keeps dropping so the Gas companies CUT production to drive the prices up!

Crooked government we have... Gee, if I "forgot" to pay my taxes for a few years, would all be forgiven?:moon:

These bikes are still a killer deal even at the new prices! Just go down and see what a Harley is going for!

Wrong.. The major devaluation occured during the last administration.
The Dollar has actually gained against the Euro and the currencies indexed to it.
The dollar has not gained against the yen and that has forced Japanese industry to finally adjust prices to help losses. It is a move they were reluctant to make because it would have a negative effect on sales.

about the politics; don't blame either administration for economy. they are trying to help it and do a better job than anyone else. it's just bad luck and timing.

do you think Bush or Obama arrive at work and say to themselves, "how can I hurt the American dollar today?"

if they purposefully hurt it, it's for the better later.

and the money they get for bailouts is loans, not just printed money from thin air.

SORRY TO THREAD JACK!!!!!!

On the original topic: I was planning to get a 09 Hayabusa out-the-door for around 11,000!! is it even possible anymore? i live in Texas and perhaps I'll have to buy at the end of fall or something, but then availability comes into question.

anyone just get liability insurance from the start? I'm told that if you finance through Suzuki you can do that since they don't require full coverage (comprehensive and collision).

sorry for all the quesitons, thanks for any help.

I was just on the suzuki website....MSRP for the 08 hayabusa was 11,999, the 09 msrp is 13,199. YIKES!

Actually, it's close or lower than before  . The US DOLLAR is taking a beating because of our NEW PRESIDENTS Stimulus Package, which the foreign markets see as UNOBTAINABLE in paying for ! "OH YEAH", he's going to pay for it because the Chineese have NO OPTIONS  other than buying more of our Bonds (According to one of "His Graces" Financial Advisors - Heard her say this 2 weeks ago on Fox Financial) .

So, don't worry, ALL IS WELL
