GPS Wiring on Gen II

I've been reading through the boards on wiring options for a GPS and I'm interested in the option of using an open accessory plug in the headlight harness. Does anyone know if this plug (or another suitable plug in the dash area) is available on the gen IIs? If it is, can I get to it without removing the front fairing?

Hey rob, what option are you talking about specificly? Do you mean the "no restricted top speed mod"?

Joker, yes the unused Euro connector that accessory harness plugs into is what I am looking for on the gen II. Is it there or was it only on the gen I? If it is on a gen II, where do I find it?

It is on the Gen II simply plugs into the open connector at the front of your bike. I believe this was the same plug used by the European models for daytime/running lights. You can't miss it once you remove the gauges and have everything exposed and I think it on the left side.

I just got one of those harnesses from boostbysmith, top notch workmanship. Fast shipper too, was here in a couple of days.

He emailed me about the Gen II. Said the euro connection is behind the gauges on the right side not at the turn signal like the Gen I's. The other thing is that it's not an open plug either, has something plugged into it. Wasn't sure what but, he adds an extra connector so you can still tap it. That adds 2 bucks to the cost so $24 instead of $22.

I believe this was the same plug used by the European models for daytime/running lights.

That'll be why I couldn't find a spare one on mine then and had to splice into another live in the loom!
