gate valve seems to be stuck

i had an overboosting problem with my bike. i found out thta i needed a new wastegate so i got one and put it on and my bike is still overboosting. took of my dump pipe and noticed the gate valve felt tight, i was told it is supposed to be a little loose. does anyone know what i can do to fix this problem.

depends on the type of waste gate, but no, I'd say it SHOULDN"T be easy to move by hand.

Is it constantly overboosting, or only at higher RPM's? What setup are you using? Its a dumb question, but you did make sure the boost reference line isn't leaking anywhere and hooked up correctly...?

I know he's running a Velocity Stage 1 street with internal wastegate...
