Gas pump seal broke????

So im going to have to be very descriptive here. So I’ve had issues with my gas pump where there is a black rubber seal that looks like a spring. It keeps coming out or getting out of place so we fixed it and thought it was set but now I have the same issue where my engine won’t start cause of loss of fuel pressure so when I looked in the pump again I see that it has broken. What causes it to break? Why does it keep happening? I have a 2000 1300 hayabusa. Please let me know anything and thank you so much for your time

I think you have a pump not intended for your application and somebody made it work (for a while). Search for external fuel pump threads or ‘99,2000 fuel pump threads and look at the pictures. There is not a barb on the O.E.M. outlet and it seals with an o-ring.
