FOOT TOAST

Even at speed, I'm getting noticeable heat through my boots and a bit on my right thigh. New 2019, under 300 miles with Akrapovic full exhaust. Normal?
Not red-hot like a V-Rod oven. But you know its there.

It totally depends on the temps and humidity levels you are riding in, how much power you are demanding from your engine, the speeds you are cruising at, sitting in traffic at a 100deg temp day with sun beating down, perfectly normal lol.
So where is your temp gauge needle sitting at?

about 94, humid. Gauge not close to red zone. This is while riding. Not sorching, just noticeable. Surprised. Not issue on GSXR 750RR (or other bikes beside the VROD is just sold)

You could use a heat wrap on that portion of the exhaust. I did on mine and it was an improvement. Although, the heat on the upper leg/thigh area is far more in my case to be bothered with the heat near the foot.
Running full Ti-Force.

I just installed my full yoshimura system and was hoping for more of an improvement on the heat issue once removing the cats. Now it is a lot cooler then with the factory exhaust but I do find quite a bit of heat to come from the right side but after quite a bit of reading on the org I find it to just be normal for the busa and something I can definitely live with.

Mine heats up crazy around the clutch cover but the hand stays in the middle and haven't noticed any problems yet.

Rubb.

Gen2 Hayabusa get different cats along the way to stay on top of emissions? I've had an '01, an '05 and an '09 'Busa and none cooked me.

My '10 ZX14 though... fek me, it was like riding on the sun. :fire:

Just looked up the exhaust system, same part numbers from 2008-2019... couldn't find a parts list for 2020 models but I presume they're the same.

Having the same PN doesn't mean that a change wasn't made and the new version superseded the old under the same number though....

When I did my full system, after reading about the heat radiation, I had the headers ceramic coated by a specialist shop that does work for race cars and top fuelers. They have a custom mix they use inside and outside, then a heat protection layer outside over the top.
The radiated heat reduction is amazing. It's about a 20-30% reduction in radiated heat.
I'm swapping from full dual to single in a few weeks and they'll be done as well.
