Does this bike generate a lot of heat or is it just me?

When my buddy got his Gen 1 he called me and asked me if my frame got hot. Because of my height my legs do not touch the frame while riding and he is shorter than me I didn't really notice the frame but it does get pretty warm. The frame is more covered on the Gen 2s and they have two coolling fans so they run a bit cooler. I think that may be a factor for some.

I live in Scottsdale, AZ and once the temps get above 100 my right leg starts to cook. I don't think the engine gets that hot as the engine temp gauge reads less than half but the hot air blows out of the right fairing onto my calf. Still it's bearable and not anywhere near as bad as my 08 ZX-14 was.
