First gear issues

Thanks for the suggestions guys, definitely need to figure something out. It has me thinking about when I was younger and ripping around on the highways late at night. I can't remember having issues with hearing after, but I was probably just too young and dumb to care...

These are the best ones I found when I was wearing these type of plugs.
Never ride without them.
Apparently the biggest injury of motorbike riders above all else is hearing loss.

Took the bike on it's first real test today. Went down south to visit my mother about 155 miles and cruising down the highway this thing feels amazing.

On the way down there is a 100 mile stretch of highway that is damn near perfectly straight the whole way with a speed limit of 75. Pretty much all cars cruise around 90, which you will go miles at a time without seeing another car. I stuck around 90 with a few blips up into the fun zone. The bike felt great the whole way, much more stable and comfortable than my old 1000cc bikes on a similar trip.

On the way home once I got to that same stretch of highway I couldn't help but just let her rip. It was so smooth and no traffic...cleared that stretch in well under an hour and damn did it feel good. The rear tire is definitely done for after that, it was already touching the wear markers before the trip.

When I got inside I noticed my hearing is a bit jacked up though. I've never had issues with that so I'm not sure what the difference is. I may need to start wearing earplugs or something when I go for trips like that.

Overall the first trip on the Hayabusa went great and can't wait for the next one!

Earplugs are a must for me and you should definitely give them a try. I spend more time with earplugs than without if I’m at work and do hearing tests annually, so I try to protect my hearing as much as possible.

We have all kinds available at work and these are my favorite. Only thing I’ve used for the past 14 years.

Since moving to a cardo comms kit and both helmets, I’ve gone and invested in a full, custom moulded set of ear plugs, but have dual speaker drivers in them. Made by a company that builds them for pro race teams and pro muso’s.

I removed the speakers from the helmets, put the padding back in and wear these now plugged into the cardo unit.
Best decision ever. Great sound suppression, perfect audio at way less volume, super comfy. I figured I was wearing earplugs anyways, might as well just do it pro style.

Just got to remember to unplug them before removing helmet… the sudden tug and pop isn’t too pleasant.. lol

Mine were just on $600aud from memory.
But I will be starting to travel again for work, so they'll be used in the planes too.

But in the helmet, on the bike, top investment for me. Love them.

I’m sure if I got a set I would never go back to a regular setup. My Sena speakers and volume are not great and with earplugs on makes it worse so I definitely need to look into them some more and also compatibility with my sena.

What model SENA do you have? When I had the SMH10, the sound was barely audible above 60mph. Cardo w/ JBL speakers are a bit louder and i can hear clearly going at higher speeds.

My Cardo's have good sound, but could be alot better.
Wasn't it @InfiniteReality that bought different speakers and soldered them in?
I'de like to upgrade them if possible.

I think is called 10c pro. I’m not impressed with the video quality or battery life while recording, but the battery does last for awhile if I’m just using it to listen to music.

Playing the game of who is the idiot here. Parts guy at the Suzuki dealer told me I needed to do some reading before I put an unsafe bike on the road.

When looking at the diagram of the rear swingarm I told him that's odd, the picture shows the swingarm spacer goes on the right side of the swingarm when it actually goes on the left. (Number 5 in the diagram) After doing some research I can see he just printed the wrong year and at some point the spacer moved from one side to the other.

Now the odd part, he tells me well there is a spacer on both sides. Replied with there are only holes to bolt it up on the left side of the swingarm. Gave me the speech he's been riding 44 years and working at Suzuki for 19 years and I need to do more research before I put an unsafe bike on the road.

Can't wait to go back up there and explain to him both points of false information he tried to feed me. It's okay to be wrong, but to be condescending when in reality he was wrong, that pisses me off!
