Is there a reputable tuner around San Bernardino? I have a 09 with yosh slip on's, I would assume having the limiter removed and 5th gear type tune would be a good thing.

or just leave it alone?

Just order the harness from smith and do the flash yourself. No need to get a shop involved.

I am getting a SRP kit and have been calling around trying to find a place to dyno tune mine past the "base" flash I am getting from Jay at SRP. Bob's garage in San Marcos states that they can. I found a search thread way back about them. I will just have to wait and see once I talk to them in person/take my bike there to see if they can or not. So, I can have better answer for you in about a months time.

thanks killerrudy.

I would get the software and kit for myself, but what the hell do I know about tuning without a dyno and a 02 sniffer. unless there was a data base to get into of known working downloads,"like for PC 3&5" its kinda a waist. trial and error by seat of the pants could be an exspensive mistake???.

True that! I am sure there are some bin files floating around out there that could be scooped up. TheSkaz and I just purchased the cables to use ECU Editor, so if you just buy the pig tail(8bucks) You can use ours.

Bob's Garage is recommended by Smith. Bob runs Bonneville as well as other competition events.

Ron,
Maybe we (you, me, skaz, rudy and teryx) can hit up BOB for a dyno "group buy"

shhh!!! Pure genius! I didn't think that he was expensive to begin with. 75 an hour? But group buys are my favorite so I am down for trying!

75 an hour sounds pretty good if he knows what he is doing.

I have been wanting to dyno tune mine (full system, BMC, soon to be ram air seals) but all the So-Cal dyno shops I sent emails to about getting an ECU tune have not responded to me. What about the new auto tune function? Anyone considered that yet?

He has slipons and wants to remove the limiter, why would he need a dyno? ??? :poke:

I also thought the same thing. Changed my mind after reading this POST below (cut-and-pasted from this thread):

Yes, I do believe that you can. A lot of people erroneously think they can just bolt on canisters with no effect on air/fuel. I have dynoed many bikes in over ten years . . . what some people don't realize is that these bikes are leaned on hard - air/fuel wise - in order to pass the EPA requirements in this country. Clean air systems (like the PAIR valve) were introduced to help battle this problem as far back as 1979. The advent of fuel injection helped the OEMs make their bikes comply. Anyone who has actually put a bike on a dyno and put an air/fuel probe into the pipe knows exactly what I am talking about. They are lean to start with - right from the factory. Then you go and install slip ons. They then become borderline worse - they usually run okay, and most customers are too dumb to think anything is wrong. Sometimes decel popping occurs, and a light goes on.

Yes, you can get some improvements by tweaking the air/fuel, either with a powercommander, ECU editor, or whatever else your local shop might be pushing . . . either way, it is worth it, just the improved throttle response alone makes it worthwhile - and knowing your air/fuel is right.

Good to know, I didn't see the other thread. I would be interested in a dyno time group buy too. :beerchug:

But Skaz and I have the Cables too. Everyone will need to order the piggy back cables from smithabusa for your bikes though. only 8 dollars so buy them now!!!!

Depending on cost and timing, I'm prospectively in :beerchug: (in other words I'm in as long as I can afford it).

If the price is reasonable, I'd be down for a group dyno too... :beerchug:
