Ok, ... was on my way up north when bike died. On the hwy.
Towed it home and threw it on the charger.
Started right up. Battery is 2 weeks old. Threw a volt meter across battery and it was in the upper teens and low 20s.
I replaced the rectifier and the headlights and it seemed to pass muster.
Took it for a ride 3 days ago .. about 60 miles .. seemed ok.
Next day when I started it , turned over slowly but started. Tossed the meter back on .. wasn't charging.
Figured it now needs a stator.
I pulled the faring off and popped up the tank to gain access to the harness for testing. I disconnected the wires to inspect.
Looked ok .. seemed to pass testing. I went back to the rectifier and saw the red wire was pulled out of the connector.
I pushed it back in and went to start it up to see if that solved my problems.
Turned over but won't fire now.
What da hell could I have done that would've caused this and what do I do to resolve this problem ????
Meanwhile, I'm stranded in northern Wisconsin ....
