Chrome wheels flaking

Sorry to hear of that dude. If I would have known you chose SportChrome, I would have given you some horror stories that would have made you change your mind. I won't even send a bolt to SportChrome.

Jon the owner sent me an email and i think hes going to cover it. This is his email to me:

My name is Jon. I'm the owner. If the wheels are failing because of a
flaw in our work then I assure you I will cover it. However don't think
for a second I change my rules because you make a childish threat to
slander me on some forums.
Jon Reed
President
Sport Chrome

Now should i even send the wheels back or bite it and pay to get it done somewhere else?

This is his 2nd message:

How did you paint them. If you heat cured them then that is why they
flaked. Let me know.
Jon

Now i did heat them but only at 150 so i think chrome should beable to hold up at that temp. Any chrome specialist out there know how hot chrome can get??

His second message is how he should have handled you in the first place. Try to figure the problem, and if it was your fault then so be it. But don't just make statements like: "However don't think for a second I change my rules because you make a childish threat to slander me on some forums..." It should have simply been about making it right if it was found to be that his work was defective. Just not very professional in my book. I wouldn't send him shiiite.

150 is nothing for chrome...  they should be able to take that with no problem...  just think how hot a chrome frame gets...

I hope it all works out for you...

I dont think im gonna send them back. Think i might just bite it and get it from Daniel...
He's an ass. I definately understand where you're coming from, but don't spite yourself just to get back at him. He'll mess with the wrong person one day and get what's coming to him. I'll bet my next check if I took a thermometer around at bike week and took the temp of a bike that's been sitting out in the Florida or South Carolina sun for awhile it would be more than 150. Make him pay for that crap.

Ill send them back but then i have to wait 2 or even 3 weeks to get it back. That sux b/c i just broke the bike out from winter storage. I also need it back before Bike week and thats in another month. Then i have to pay for the barings again and then in another 3 months i have to do it again? I only want to do it 1 more time. The paint to do the spokes is alot of money and time too. So im losing alot of money anyway. I just dont want to have to send him another rim 3 months down the road......

Chrome should hold up to 200º or more. They have chrome heads and other crap for cars and they dont flake...

Yeah I've seen the valve covers and things like that for cars. Also, what about chrome exhaust systems? Chrome headers and tips? He's using a lame and false excuse. Call him on it.
