Busa Owner Wannabe

I am surfing the Busa forums trying to soak up as much knowledge as possible. I am a returning rider from a long lay off. I used to race off road bikes (2-3-4 wheels) and have many family members who ride (mostly CBRs and Honda cruisers). I was an avid Honda fanboy until Suzuki and Kawi won me over with their models. I wrecked a while back and only rode a few times since. Now I have quite a few friends (Busa, Harley and Kawi owners) who have convinced me to return. I will be taking the MSF course and am looking at getting a 2009 Black/Gray if the Blue/Gold is not available. I appreciate any good advice and knowledge you can share. The missus isn't happy, but she doesn't understand the feeling I miss from riding...I do not plan on racing again though, unless at a track for fun.

Welcome to the oRg Gerald! The new Busa is supposed to be really nice ride. I have a gen 1 so I cant comment, but stay tuned, lots of k8 owners here that can chime in. So, welcome and enjoy yourself.

If you're dead-set on a 2009, then fantastic choice. Otherwise, you'd probably be able to pick up an excellent 1st Gen example for mighty cheap these days. The 1999-2007 bikes may have lost a little value when the 2008's came out, but they are still a fine example of motorcycling these days.

Speaking for an 08 owner, I can say that the bike is awesome, ironically I rode my 08 BEFORE I rode a Gen 1, I gotta tell ay there IS a difference in the feel, but BOTH bikes are well put together. The Org helped me make my decision to buy the 08 as my first Busa so stay around read up on everything and don't be afraid to aks questions...this place probably has THE most cumulative Busa knowedge ever assembled, amazing cause they are damn fine people too...when you get one, IF you get one, hit up Warbird down in VA Im sure he'd ride with you...again, welcome aboard and good luck in your search...you gots lots 'o readin to do young man!
