Instead of starting a new thread for such a small question I found this thread related to my ? in a search.

In the first post, the person asked what the middle mark on the temperature gauge indicated.

I too would like to know what the actual temperature is at the mid point mark ??
... And what temperature is the leading edge of the red line ??

I'm going to guess the mid point is somewhere around 200 F. How far off am I ??

Any input is appreciated.

06 with 230miles.
Take it to the shop under warrenty and make sure they purge the ssytem. You may have air in the coolant lines. In New York this time of yewar you should not be going past the halfway mark even in traffic. Also make sure that they have enough coolant in the radiator.

I first experienced this issue when sitting in traffic on Main Street in Daytona at bike week. I installed the MUzzy Aluminum fan and put in Engine Ice. It fixed the problem. In talks with the mechanics at the dealership, nothing will stop the bike from overheating if you stand in traffic for a long time. As long as some air is moving through, you should be okay. When you see the overheat led come on, turn the motor off or get going. Since making the modifications, I have yet to hit the red on the guage. Good luck.
