Still have the OEM pads on my 2012 Hayabusa. I can still see the wear indicators meaning they should have life, but at what point (age) would it be a good idea to change?
Brake pad age matter?

I'd take them out and have a look at them to check for de-lamination between the pads and the backings, if there is no evidence of de-lamination or glazing and the pads aren't at the wear bars, they will be GTG, unlike tires made of rubber, there's no real age issue with brake pads.
My 08 still has factory installed pads.Last time I checked, the wear bar was still visible a little bit so I kept them.

I can't remember exactly. I have not ridden in a few months. It's under 20k miles. 14k I think.

See, the new and shiny makes me happy. Old pads (8 years old) just make me think "bad" even thou they might be fine.
