Not trying to stir the pot but I think it's silly whenever people try to divide things up along racial lines. If I am misunderstanding the purpose of the event then I will STFU.

I'm not sure how the name or reference came to be...But I think the event is a spin off from an event that use to be held in Atlanta during the same time of year...I believe the Atlanta event was referred to as "Freaknik" or something close to that...I see alot of races at this event it's not isolate...So come as you are...No need to bleach or tan your skin...

That complaint has surfaced over several years and it's all about money and convience...I think it's necessary to have the amount of law enforcement present that they have...Reduced the number of potentially fatal accidents and promotes for an overall safer atomosphere...Most of the locals also complain that some businesses close due to the number of black vacationers...My position it's their busines and if they don't want to make an extreme profit during this week then it's their loss...Even with the issues of traffic and closed businesses it is a wonderful week...

I think that the title came about due to the Harley event the week before. I think that some Black people felt unwelcome there and decided to make their own bike week. As Stunnah says, all people are welcome, (probably at both events) so go, enjoy or just look at the pictures he'll post!!

Black Bike Week, also known as Atlantic Beach Bike Week, is celebrating it's 25th year anniversary. I was in college in Atlanta at the beginning of FreakNic, and Bike Week has nothing to do with FreakNic. BBW was started when the beaches in SC were still segregated and actually goes back beyond the 25 years, but the 25 year time-frame is the time when things became 'official'. Atlantic Beach is still one of the few Incorporated African-American cities in the US

, right in the middle of Myrtle Beach, SC. You can still see the vestiges of segregation, Atlantic Beach is one of the few stretches of beach in the Myrtle area that does not have Ocean Blvd run thru it.

All races are welcome at ATLANTIC BEACH BIKE WEEK. We don't discriminate! I have friends with harleys that have attended harley week and have been called ni**a and told they didn't belong. We take a group of folks that include white, black, puerto rican, etc., along to BBW/ABBW and have a great time!

Come see for yourself, come have a great time where bikes of all types and colors (not just BLACK) and people of all colors hang out!

Just for the record gents, the further north you go(think North Myrtle, or Atlantic Beach), the fewer cops, newbie riders, foot soldiers(nonriders) and skanky girls you will see. The REAL rider entertainment is in Atlantic Beach. They usually have the bulk of the shows and races. Be careful with your prized possession-sticky fingers are prevalent.

TROUBLE!!!!!!. As long as people are cool, and wanna have fun, where is the problem??? I for one, would love to meet up with some other riders during that week. I will have to say that during black bike week more bikes are ripped off than any other event. Now that really bothers me. Why the hell does someone have to bother someone else's shid???
I am staying in S. Myrtle, but plan on goin' all over the place. I wish we all had some sort of sticker or something to let others know that we are members of this board. Then we wouldn't feel awkward walking up to someone and saying "Hey man, I am ....from Hayabusa.org.
I like to mingle with black and white people, and love to watch women of all races!!!!!
Does anyone mind if I show up at ####'s on Friday night???

Last year we agreed to wear a Hayabusa.org shirts to bobos Resort on Friday night the same whould apply this year...You had better get there early or you may not get in...
