Best plug and play radar detector?

I'm not a fan of battery powered radar detectors, no offense to those that own them intended. I just bought my bike and radar detectors are a must mainly for rear detection, as I can normally spot them before my radar detector goes off in my car.

What hardwired detectors are available? I'm thinking I need a good visual and maybe even something that alerts me in my helmet.

Thanks

Where do you guys mount them on your bike? I would think up front under the sheild but can it pick up stuff behind you when you sitting in the way? Sorry to jack your thread Shinobi.

I am happy with the Escort 9500ix. You can buy a "hardwire" kit for it that includes an LED for visual alert.

OK so far I really like the design of the ADAPTIV TPX however I am looking for one I can take back and forth between my car, truck, and bike, depending on what I'm driving. So the Valentine 1 or Escort 8500-9500 would be the choice for that.

Does the ADPTIV TPX have rear detection?

Also where do people put these mounts?

I seems like you could just put a suction cup on the windscreen or use the LED and speaker system?

The TPX looks like a good system with the LED, hardwire harness, and helmet speaker, where does the mount install at?

Thanks

Yes, it has rear detection. It mounts with a bracket that goes on over the steering nut.

I don't use a helmet alert, only the LED dash, and audio from the unit itself.

OK thanks for confirming. I like the ADAPTIV, but am thinking I want something I can take from vehicle to vehicle. I wonder how the TPX works for cars? Does it have a cigaro lighter plug it or 12vdc?

I was also eyeballing the Escort 9500ix.
